July 27, 2005 (Golden Valley, MN)—Acquisition gives Mobile Radio a bigger presence in the St. Paul mobile wireless communications market and offers additional top level service and technical expertise to Capitol 2-Way customers.
Mobile Radio Engineering, Inc., Golden Valley, MN, today announced that it has acquired Capitol 2-Way Communications, Saint Paul, MN. Mobile Radio Engineering (MRE) is a two-way mobile wireless communications industry leader, serving a broad customer base including companies and government organizations that must communicate with a widespread and mobile work force.
Capitol 2-Way Communications has built an excellent reputation for wireless communications products and services for customers in the metropolitan area.
Both companies are privately held.
“By purchasing Capitol 2-Way, we have an excellent opportunity to provide our customers with the largest wide area dispatch radio network in the Twin Cities,” says Dan Davey, Mobile Radio’s president and CEO. “Additionally, we are now able to offer expert, dependable service from convenient locations in both Minneapolis and St. Paul. ”
Davey notes that Capitol 2-Way Communications, Inc. will maintain its name and its location in Saint Paul’s Midway district.
Together, the two companies will help commercial fleets, small businesses and government agencies keep on top of ever-changing wireless technologies. “Wireless communication can be a secure, economical and convenient way to ensure that businesses can communicate with their workforce,” says Neale Caflisch, Capitol 2-Way sales manager, “But it’s also proving to be a cost-saving efficiency as well because two-way mobile wireless communications subscribers can select the coverage areas they want and not be tied to costly annual service contracts like cellular subscribers.”
Mobile Radio Engineering, Inc. was a pioneer in mobile communications when it was founded 58 years ago and has been a Twin Cities leader in the latest mobile radio dispatch technologies since. The company offers a full range of mobile communication equipment and service options including mobile wireless contracts and custom design solutions.
